The new Lomi Bloom has just been released! Lomi Bloom is the world’s first smart waste appliance marketed to keep food out of the landfill. In the relentless fight against climate change, finding innovative solutions to reduce our carbon footprint is more critical than ever. One area where we can make a significant impact is by efficiently managing our organic waste, including food scraps, vegetable scraps, coffee grounds, and more. Enter the Lomi Bloom, the world’s first smart waste appliance, designed to revolutionize how we handle kitchen composting and reduce our impact on the environment.

How is Lomi Bloom Different from the Original Lomi Home Composter?

While there are a few key differences between the Lomi Bloom and the Lomi Home Composter, the machines are virtually the same. When you put banana peels and other food waste from your green bin into either model of the Lomi, you get a pretty great finished product. Both models still use the activated charcoal filters and are carbon neutral appliances.

The main difference between the Lomi Bloom and the Lomi Home Composter is how the machine is marketed. No longer is the Lomi marketed as an electric composter. Instead, the Lomi Bloom is being marketed as “The World’s First Smart Waste Appliance”.

In our opinion, this this a big win. Here at The Compost Culture we have never advertised the Lomi as a true composting machine. Instead, we have always touted it as a dehydrator and grinder that helps to keep food out of the landfill. We love this new marketing campaign and couldn’t be happier that Lomi is pioneering the way to keep food out of the landfill.

Other key differences between the Lomi Bloom and Lomi Home Composter

WiFi capabilities: The new Lomi Bloom has WiFi capabilities, which is pretty cool! The machine connects to an app that tracks the positive impact you’re having on the environment, including the amount of food and waste you’ve diverted from landfill.

On top of that, you can get rewarded for all the food you divert from the landfill!  Earn points just for connecting your device, plus every time you run a cycle, refer a friend, or place an order. Redeem your points for free products and special discounts from Lomi  and other great brands.

Clear lid: One of the coolest features of the new Lomi Bloom is the clear lid. It is pretty fun, especially for kids, to see what is going on inside the Lomi Bloom Smart Waste Appliance.

What is the End Product of the Lomi Bloom?

The end product of the Lomi Bloom is called Lomi Earth. We are very happy that Lomi is choosing to call this Lomi Earth as opposed to finished compost.

Lomi Earth can be used in a variety of ways. You can add it to your yard waste pile, put it in a traditional compost bin, use it as a soil amendment, or simply toss into your yard. Either way, the Lomi Earth is in a much better place than it would have been had the food waste been sent to a landfill!

If you use a Lomi Pod in the “Grow Mode”, your Lomi Earth will be much more nutrient rich and can be added directly to your plants.

How Do You Use Lomi Earth, the End Product of the Lomi Bloom?

To use your Lomi Earth, first use the Grow mode on your Lomi Bloom. This will ensure the most nutrient rich end product.

Next, mix your nutrient-rich Lomi Earth at a 1:10 ratio with soil and add to your houseplants and garden. You can also spread it directly in your lawn.

What to do with Lomi Earth not Made from Grow Mode

There are times that you will opt not to use the Grow mode on your Lomi Bloom. Maybe you want to break down your Pela case or another Lomi approved bio plastic. Or maybe you just want to use the Eco-Express mode to get the process done quickly.

In those situations you can add them to another compost bin or toss them outside in an area that doesn’t have a lot of plants.

How Does the Lomi Bloom Work?

The Lomi Bloom Smart Waste Appliance is a dehydrator and grinder. First the machine dehydrates your food, then it grinds it. This makes it so much easier to dispose of your food without inviting unwanted pests into your house.

Lomi Bloom features several modes, including “Grow Mode,” “Eco-Express Mode,” and “Lomi Approved Mode.”

These modes cater to different composting needs, ensuring the best results regardless of your requirements. For instance, “Eco-Express Mode” rapidly transforms food items into finished products, making it ideal for disposing of food waste at the end of the day.

Reasons to Invest in a Lomi Bloom

Traditional compost bins and kitchen composters have their limitations, often taking a long time to turn waste into usable garden compost. This can be especially challenging for apartment dwellers or individuals with limited space. The Lomi Bloom is here to change the game. This countertop appliance simplifies the process with the push of a button.

One of the main benefits of using the Lomi Boom is its efficiency. Thanks to its moisture control and carbon filters, it significantly reduces the risk of unpleasant odors and fruit flies. The Lomi Bloom’s ability to operate in cold weather and handle a variety of organic waste, including animal products, makes it a versatile addition to any kitchen.

The Lomi Bloom is manufactured by Pela Earth, a company committed to reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable living. With the Lomi unit, you’ll be contributing to the reduction of methane emissions that often result from traditional composting methods. It’s a carbon-neutral solution that aligns with efforts to combat climate change.

Lomi Bloom is a Cost Efficient Choice

When considering its energy use, the Lomi Bloom is surprisingly cost-efficient. On average, it consumes only a few kilowatt-hours per month, making it an environmentally responsible choice that won’t spike your electricity costs. Plus, with easy to order filter refills, you’ll have peace of mind knowing your composter is operating at its best.

Where to Buy a Lomi Bloom

The best place to purchase your Lomi Bloom is directly through the Lomi website here.

Amazon currently has the original Lomi so I’m sure they will carry the Lomi Bloom at some point.

Costco also has the original Lomi so keep an eye out for deals on the new Lomi Bloom there too!

We Suspect that Lomi Bloom will become a Staple in Kitchen Appliances

In a world where we need to find the easiest ways to make a positive impact on our environment, the Lomi Bloom stands out as a game changer. This smart waste appliance is one of the newest products in the at-home waste management space, offering an efficient and eco-friendly solution for converting your kitchen scraps into Lomi Earth.

By using the Lomi Bloom, you not only reduce your carbon emissions but also contribute to the creation of nutrient-rich soil that can benefit your vegetable gardens, flower beds, and more. It’s time to rethink tossing food scraps into the landfill and embrace the Lomi Bloom, where kitchen waste transforms into a valuable resource for a sustainable future.
